Lemme in!

Well then, according to the General forum's subtitle, this is the right place to post this.

I just read the guild highlight on the eu-war site, and I like you guys' mentality =)
Now, I'm not in beta (not until the 7th anyway), but considering the RvR nature of this game, I thought it might be a good idea to already apply for guildmembership, and I quite like yours =). So, if you guys are even looking for more people, consider this my application.

I'm Morry (well, Rick actually :P), 19 years old, Dutch student studying English Language and Culture at the University of Nijmegen.
Seeing as I've not yet played the game, I don't know what class I'll be (most likely chaos zealot or either of the gobs) but I'm sure I'll play destruction at least =)
I'm a bit of a social player, though I also like to get together and achieve something every now and then, but I don't care much for being world/server first.

If you need to know anything else, just ask =) I've also got one question for you guys though; will you be playing on a core server or an open pvp one? Thanks.

Hi Morry, thanks for the post :)

We'll be playing on a Core server (I quite fancied an RP-Core server but the majority don't fancy it)

Not sure which one yet as the names aren't announced but keep an eye out on the website/forums here and we'll get grouped up with you to see if we all get along :)

Thanks for the quick reply =)

That's good to hear, seeing as I'm a bit too much of a 'carebear' for open pvp, that would've put a damper on things :P

Anyway, thanks, I'll watch these forums like a hawk when open beta launches :)

EDIT: just saw your sig. Pontiflex... do you play savage 2 by any chance?

Nah, Pontifex was the level 50 class title for a Cleric in daoc :)

Should probably update that sig really...

No chance of us going on Open ;)

Ah ok.

In that case, I guess I'll wait slightly longer :( :P

Sorry, meant no chance of us going on Open RvR server :) Quite like my PvE as well as my RvR, but not mixed together so much.

I'm personally going to try my best not to play Open Beta (I've been in since June last year) in order to make it even cooler on release... but chances of that lasting longer than a second are slim.

Haha =P That's a good sign :) I've been waiting for a MMORPG that can get me that zombie-esque "MUST...PLAY..." feeling again for a long time now.

Haha, thanks for all the welcomes and the random(?) bit about carpets? If someone could elaborate... :P

Either way, I think I like you guys already

carpets are what HG do - we go out into RvR in a large group, and die horribly (making a nice carpet of corpses on the floor)

Aadia (who was in Knights of Pendragon - an allied guild) played a cleric in DAoC and unlike most of us HGers specced sensibly in the healing line and occasionally prevented the formation of the carpet of death.

Indeed sadly Aadia didn't follow the HG code - especially once she got RP's for healing - I could barely get my face in the mud once that kicked in!!

To be honest.... think everyone was worth more rp's for being dead due to rezzing than healing !!!!
I still remember trying to beat Vlad to it all !!! :o

That shouldn't be hard - get it by about level 12 :)

Bracken said he probably wasn't going to play, I hope he changes his mind. I miss all the goat jokes to start with...

Hmmm I will but Brack ain't sure yet. He's got my 'open beta' key which he'll use as i got into closed beta.
The one thing that's putting him off is all the old DAoC 'leet' ones that left a sour taste on DAoC and he finds WAR looks a bit too cartoony compared to Lotro and DAoC.

Talk about men being picky !!! :eek7:

tell him the gfx arent important but that the gameplay is.
things just wont be as much fun without the pair of you.

Tell him I will stop all the l33t kids laughing at his cloth armour etc like I used to in DAOC...

I'm actively seeking to avoid servers where there is mass influx of ex-DaoC guilds so as to avoid the resurfacing of tire old arguments.

As for the graphics being cartoony, I think I'd wait and see how they look in Open Beta when we get all the bells and whistles that weren't available in previoud phases. I don't think they are really much more cartoony than LOTRO just with a different feel to them.

Still probably best bet is to tell Brack he'll hate it to make him want to play, he is male after all :)

See I thought Lotro was a bit cartoony / cheesy looking - thats what put me off - it felt all soft in the middle - like a grandad.
