out of curiosity i had a stab at the new free to play version of Everquest 2.
have to say, its a lot better than when it was released.
runs smoother, quests are better and its a bit easier to play.
might be worth looking at if you have nothing else to do.

Having a brief look but it seems a bit less free to play friendly that DDO and LOTRO (when it comes to EU) has at least in those games you can earn points to spend in store in game whereas as far as I can see you can only buy upgrades with free money via station store.

Haven't had much of a chance to actually play though, this work stuff is a pain :)

Decided to resub for a month, still had some chars from head start 6 years ago :)

Games certainly play differently though when you approach them as a 'causal' couple of hours a day type. Quite enjoying it atm, it's pretty to look at and vast in scale will hepl me keep busy til something better is released.

my friend and i are looking at this, will only be able to play a few hours a week though.

best duo classes would be druid & SK?
is there a guild on a server we can join? :)

been reading a bit about the extended version and it seems to be really crippled.
you cant forma guild, cant access top quality loot, cant see the subbing players.
still, i cant help but enjoy playing it a couple of times a week. :/

no i dont think so myself druid is the kite king in EQ and makes a reasonable healer .
you have a choice really either go down the healer tank route or the double kite route
option 1 is i healer class druid shammy cleric . and a tank class tip. ogre warriors cannot be stunned while faceing the enemy. if you pull 1 or 2 mobs a pop this is a basic duo tactic and works great

the dual kite is a bit more fun really pick a kiteing class druid or shammy for example . now 1 pulls the mob in and starts kiteing the other dots it to shit . mob should switch agro at that point to the doter . doter circle kites as the puller did . now puller dots or nukes . ect dead mob
dont gop with the SK i played one in EQ 1 there gimpy . there primary purpose was to pull . i switched to monk as there superb pullers and my guild at the time needed some for the top content dungeons mainly the dragon one . which let me tell ya was a complete bastard to pull and took about 2 days to clear
