Dragon Raid Rules

Post by Fingoniel »

(in public section because not everyone coming is alliance)

Tactics:
We'll split into 4, one suicider, as the dragon starts to return to its mound we'll charge in, pet spam, cast anything you want as long as your under it's belly.

ressers maintain a good distance - we will assign 2 groups on add control, keep those elders from killing everyone :)

if you get ported get running back (sw to the dragon from the portal spot).

Basically, same as the one Lox/Ocond did.

Lotto:

The stones will be split evenly between the groups - one skill, one respec. (we should have between 15 and 20 groups so that should work - if we have only 12 groups and somehow manage to win it'll be 2 of each per group, if we have more than 20 it's gonna get fun)

These will be given out by myself and methos to the group leaders (I'll be taking names of group leaders + members at the start, this may take some time I'm afraid but it'll be needed for a smooth lotto)

Once all these stones have been given out (along with a bonus non-100% drop for every group!), the remainder plus the 100% dragon drops will be placed into a lotto.

This lotto will run as follows:
Each group leader will /random 100 standing next to myself. I'll hand out career stones to the top X, then realm respec stones, then the 100% drops.

e.g. if we have 20 groups that leaves 5 career, 5 realm, 4 drops.
The top 5 rollers will get a career stone for their group.
The next 5 a realm.
The next 4 the drops (I'll announce the order of these before the /random so there's no possibility of cheating)

If there are 15 groups we will have 20 stones and 4 drops. In this case (or similar cases) I will combine the stones to give the top rollers a 'double prize' of career+respec.

e.g. 9 winners of 2 stones, 1 wins a career, 1 wins a realm, 4 win uber drops.

If we have more than 25 groups I'll be surprised and we'll have to lotto for _all_ the stones. But this is unlikely.

can we choose one of the 100% drops rather than a respec stone? :)

nope :)

no choosing - it's a fixed order, then every group leader /random 100's once. The entire lotto is decided from that roll.

After hearing from the two people from are guild that were on the loxy lotto, this is the only sensible way to do it. It is just not fair on Fing to expect him to spend 3 hours doing the lotto.

This way the lotto is over with in 1/2 hour and we can all go back to doing important things like crafting.

I was gonna have lottos for the items etc. but I was talking to Daivana who was saying 'hrm some people might like drops rather than respec stones' and I was thinking about what sort of trouble it'd cause if people passed on lotteries to get the good loot ...

one roll - no quibbling, no personal choices - nothing that anyone can complain about. That's the idea, anyway.

(it does have the added advantage it won't take 3 hours too :))

Are the groups going to be by guild, or more functional in nature?
We should get this sorted now so we dont spend 2 hours mucking around tonight getting organised before we even leave CWS.

ciao

If i understand it if possible we want guild groups. Then it is up to the guild to sort out the drops. If a guild have some leftovers then i guess they can join in mixed groups. If this happens then what i suggest is that the grp leader does the lotto with fing. Then all the drops that that grp get are again lottoed within the grp.

Not that I am going to be able to make it... although Jet might actually be there as a buff / rez bot ;) .... are we going to hang around and try for a 2nd spawn / kill if we manage to kill the first time?

Just a thought, that would mean more stones / drops for everyone.

I'm not sure - we'll see how long it takes the first time - I'm thinking of doing the first stones distribution near the dragon lair - then the lotto - and then if the dragon has respawned we go again :)

If were doing the zerg under his belly tactics then perfectly balanced groups arent to much bother.

As long as every1 has damage adds and ressers ress whoever they see.

Dragon dead - no loot found.

I'll post the names of the groups here, plus the winners of the lotto (the lotto with nowt to win - oh well)

Talked to GOA they'll need to check logs etc.
Tomorrow is a Holiday unfortunately so it'll probably take till Friday before it gets sorted.

I take it from what you have said that when they have checked the logs that they will give us our loot?

Should they do such a thing like soloing the dragon then i want to know because I wanna see that 8)

Hmm maybe he takes the model of the mid dragon (they're overpowered anyway so no chance of loosing), and we'll have a nice dwagoonfight :swords:
