aha nm a bit more searching and I found the film that quotes it.

That's a fairly obscure clue btw

I'll rephrase it as well to reduce confusion:

" think last few years, a non sci-fi film but starring an actor that has been in a well known sci-fi franchise that has spanned a few generations"

(i.e. it's not a spinoff of a well known sci-fi franchise, which it would be if the lead character was in it, no?

but a film starring someone who was in a sci-fi franchise)

ok no1 has guessed it but its Coach Carter
its also a famous quote from a book but never mind.
Samuel L Jackson who is lead role in Coach Carter also played a Jedi Knight in Star Wars and had a PURPLE light saber, the only person to have a completely differnt colour!

Hmmm seen Coach Carter, and those clues now make sense, but at the time...the Purple one especially would be lost on meh - I love Star Wars but couldnt tell you who had what colour sabre!
