Don't ask me why but was thinking about this last night. So far got

Vacuum Cleaner - Hoover
Personal Stereo - Walkman
Sticky back plastic - Sellotape
Correction fluid - Tippex
Vacuum Flask - Thermos

(Actually Tal came up with last 3 and I'm not convinced by Thermos!)

Anymore?

Spam doesn't count because it didn't become the word for what it actually is...if you see what I mean :)

Nah, salad is salad. Same for Corn Flakes - I would only say that if I was having cornflakes, otherwise I say cereal.

Spam still stands though imo ;)

Since at least one goes through my hands every day: 'Pampers' for any brand of diapers - at least in Belgium.
