Don't ask me why but was thinking about this last night. So far got
Vacuum Cleaner - Hoover
Personal Stereo - Walkman
Sticky back plastic - Sellotape
Correction fluid - Tippex
Vacuum Flask - Thermos
(Actually Tal came up with last 3 and I'm not convinced by Thermos!)

Nah, salad is salad. Same for Corn Flakes - I would only say that if I was having cornflakes, otherwise I say cereal.
