get hold of a program called Audacity. it's a free sound file editor. you'll also need to download the lame mp3 encoder (it's called lame, it's not actually lame)
when you've got it installed and put the lame dll in your windows folder, you can load the mp3 into audacity. select the entire track (ctrl+a) and then go to effect -> amplify. adjust it to what you want, then export it to a new, louder mp3 file :)

not seen Dexter yet, but the missus loves it and I bought her the series 1 dvd boxset for her birthday and will be watching it once we've finished going through her series 2 boxset of Supernatural. :)

Or much easier check this out: http://mp3gain.sourceforge.net/

MP3Gain is universal and can be used to set the perceived the volume of ALL your mp3's to the same level. Great if you have loads of mp3's from errmm.. "download" sites that have all been encoded with various degrees of skill.

It is a recognised mp3 tag and works in just about everything. The beauty of it it is you don't have to touch your base mp3 file as such. No re-encoding is needed. It can be reversed quickly and easily. Has a systemn to traverse your entire collection and set an internal volume across them all manually through to completely automatically.

going abit off topic ..

I've not found anything i like better as a series and screen writing than Heroes, and never got into Dexter.

as for other stuff.
Chuck is a good series.
Journeyman is okay .. modern day Quantum Leap.
think thats all i've seen recently.

Finally watching Battlestar Galactica - just onto season 3 - its pretty enjoyable to be fair.

Chuck is funny and looking forward to season 2.
Dexter season 3 - can't wait!!
Soprano's season 4 I am on currently and thats one of my favourites to be fair.

Comedy wise just finishing last season of Scrubs, My name is Earl and Two and a Half Men.. all great programs imo.

Got bored of Supernatural miday through season 2 - same old same old every episode.. it was ok but spare time is a premium so binned that off...same with 24 - think it would have been better watching it when it came out, it looked a tad dated when I started watching it recently.

Sleeper Cell was a good mini series - didn't get around to the second one yet tho.
